Hello Everyone!…I know it’s been a few months since I wrote a new article.
Lately I have been battling with my depression. I’ve been thinking a little too much about life and taking it too seriously. As the old saying goes, “When you are dead serious about life, it’s time to take a vacation.”
This article is meant for those who have been struggling with anxiety, depression or those who simply have a hard time shaking negative thoughts.

Here are 19 Ways To Shake Off Negative Vibes!
Close Yours Eyes and Breathe.
Yes, just breathe. It’s a simple first step to stopping the craziness going on in your head. If you’re like me, then you overthink the s**t out of everything. Stop it! Give yourself 2 minutes to just listen to your breath. It’s not like you can stop the world from spinning if you keep stressing and thinking. Just let it be and chill.
Practice Gratitude
I can tell you right now, that if you haven’t tried this before, then it’s going to be really hard. It gets easier day after day, but if this is your first time,…it’s going to suck. It’s really hard seeing what IS going for you, when all you focus on is what’s NOT working for you. Practice thanking the things that you have in your life. Your family, food, clothes, your eyes, God, socks, clean water, a cell phone, Love, beer, etc. You get it. The first few times you do this, it’s going to feel weird, but afterwards, you will start to see all the good you already have in your life and it will help you realize that life is not all bad.
Laugh
Did you know there is actually something called Laughter Yoga? Cool right! The best medicine really is laughter. The more you laugh, the less you think about your worries. I know it’s hard when you are in deep depression, however you should try to make an effort to do this type of yoga. Watch some funny videos, or a funny TV show. Or get in front of some kids. Kids always say the silliest things that make me laugh. Whatever it may be, just start laughing, it will help a ton!
Positive Affirmations
This is also another tip that requires effort. It took me a while to master speaking positive affirmations to myself. Before that, I would just keep saying negative things without even knowing it. You really have to train your mind to keep the positivity flowing even when it’s really hard to do so. Say things like, “ I am powerful, I am loved, I am happy, Everything I want is already mine, I always have more than enough.” Whatever you say to yourself will begin to internalize and become reality, so make sure they are positive things.
Help Others
I find that when I’m feeling down, helping other people really helps me stop focusing on my problems. It’s a nice little window of relief from your own mind when you help someone else with their problem. It’s also very humbling. It shows you that everyone has problems and your problems aren’t bigger than someone else’s.
Here are some more quick tips on staying positive.
Tell someone you love them
Stop complaining
Say, “Thank you.”
Don’t gossip or listen to gossip
Stop Multi-tasking – focus on one thing at a time
Stop watching the news
Don’t think about the past – Let It Go
Set Goals
Exercise
Eat Healthy
Rest
Stay clean and organized
Make To-Do Lists
Smile at yourself in the mirror
Staying positive is not always easy, but making little changes will help you reprogram your mind and make it so that your “default” is positive instead of negative.
LIFE UPDATE
Lately things have just been crazy. I lost my grandfather a few months ago and since then, things have just been really hard. I have been thinking a lot about life and what I truly want out if it. It’s quite the roller coaster but I have decided to keep going with my blog and even start my photography. I love photography and I’m even thinking about creating a stock library. I’m tired of waiting for the perfect moment to do it. So I’m just going to jump in!
It’s so crazy when you work so hard for something, it feels like you can never reach your goal, but when you stop wanting it, then it comes to you. I guess wanting nothing, gets you everything.
For anyone who is feeling like s**t, I want to just let you know that I am here for you, and that it does get better. Just send me an email if you ever need to talk. Depression sucks and can really mess up your life, that’s why it’s important to surround yourself with people who are positive and that will lift you up!
